Work Health & Safety laws regulate the safety standards required for workplaces within NSW to protect the wellbeing of workers and other persons on the premises.

Work health and safety laws are regulated by:

  • NSW Department of Industry, Resources & Energy for Mines in NSW or
  • Safework NSW for other workplaces.

The laws require people to identify risks to workplace health and safety and to take reasonable measures to eliminate, or at least minimise the risk to the safety of others.

A failure to comply with these laws can be investigated by the regulators and sanctions may be imposed for any confirmed contravention.

If you are a business who requires advice on your legal obligations under the work health and safety laws or if you have concerns regarding the management of any complaints about work health and safety, we recommend that you contact our firm on (02) 9233 4048 or send an email to info@navado.com.au and arrange an appointment to see one of our Compliance & Regulations Solicitors.
