The Medical Professional Standards are administered by the Medical Board of Australia. The Medical Board of Australia generally draws it's authority from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency which works in partnership with the National Boards of Australia. The general terms of the Standards relate to:

  • Providing good care to patients;
  • Working with patients;
  • Working with other healthcare professionals;
  • Working within the healthcare system;
  • Minimising risk;
  • Maintaining professional performance;
  • Professional behavior;
  • Ensuring doctors' health;
  • Teaching, supervising and assessing;
  • Undertaking research.

If you as a practitioner are seeking advice on compliance with the Medical Profession Standards, or have been accused of noncompliance, then we would encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to discuss your next steps. Similarly if you have a concern that a medical practitioner has previously or continues to breach these standards, we would encourage you to contact us to discuss your matter further.

We invite you to contact our firm on (02) 9233 4048 or send an email to info@navado.com.au and arrange an appointment to speak to one of our Compliance & Regulatory Law Solicitors.
