In NSW gambling is primarily regulated by the Casino, Liquor and Gaming Control Authority Act 2007 which operates in conjunction with Liquor & Gaming NSW which is responsible for the proper conduct and balanced development of the gaming, racing, liquor and charity industries in NSW. Together with the Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority (ILGA), both authorities are responsible for the licensing and regulatory supervision of NSW casinos.

Generally the standard administered is the Responsible Conduct of Gambling which covers the following issues:

  • Benefits of Responsible Conduct of Gambling;
  • Problem gambling;
  • Harm minimization;
  • Gambling laws;
  • Minors;
  • Offences and penalties;
  • Gaming signage;
  • Self-exclusion;
  • Strategies to conduct gambling responsibly;
  • Venue self-audit checklists;
  • Player prizes and winnings payment; and
  • How gaming laws affect employees of licensed premises.

At Navado we may be able to assist if you are setting up or currently operate a venue where gambling is available, or if you are seeking to obtain licensing for gambling to occur on site, including advising as to compliance standards and improvements required under the Responsible Conduct of Gambling. We can also assist patrons or other members of the community who consider themselves to have been harmed by a breach of the Responsible Conduct of Gambling.
