CAPA, or the Counsellors and Psychotherapists Association of NSW Incorporated, generally regulates the conduct of Therapists in New South Wales. Generally the Therapists Code of Conduct relates to:
- Respect the essential humanity, worth and dignity of all people;
- Honour the trust placed in us by our members and protect the integrity of that relationship;
- Recognise and respect cultural, religious and sexual diversity among all people.
- Oppose discrimination, oppressive and other unjust behaviour.
- Are required to familiarise themselves with the restrictions and demands of our client’s cultural, sexual and religious backgrounds;
- Respect the privacy of our clients by preserving the confidentiality of their information;
- Protect the rights of, and promote the responsibilities of our clients.
- Foster competence and good governance by ongoing training and supervision;
- Abide by the laws of the State of NSW.
