Broadcasting Law:

Overview FAQs Articles Locations

Broadcasting service means a service that delivers television programs or radio programs to persons having equipment appropriate for receiving that service, whether the delivery uses the radiofrequency spectrum, cable, optical fibre, satellite or any other means or a combination of those means.

The Parliament has applied varying levels of regulatory control across the broadcasting services, data-casting services and internet services capable of shaping influence on community views.

The regulatory policy is subject to certain standards administered by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). Broadcasters carry with them a community responsibility for the dissemination of media through the broadcasting industry, the data casting industry, the internet industry and the commercial content service industry.

Our broadcasting lawyers can represent you in a wide array of matters including negotiating and strategising broadcast-related purchases and accompanying sale agreements. We can also advise on regulatory specific matters, licensing, multiple ownership limitations, broadcasting rules and legislation, related policies, broadcasting advertising limitations and restrictions, programming matters and technical broadcasting rules.

If you require assistance with a broadcasting law matter, you should make an appointment to see one of our media and or entertainment law solicitors. Please contact us on (02) 9233 4048 or send an email to info@navado.com.au to arrange your first consultation.
