Overview FAQs Articles Locations

A dog and cat must be registered from the time they are 6 months old. In some instances, such as when the owner has received notice of Council’s intention to declare the dog a dangerous, menacing or restricted dog, registration must occur immediately.

Pets can be registered with the Local Council. Online registration may be available for some Council areas.

A failure to register the dog or cat within the timeframe required, is an offence and a penalty notice may be issued to its owner.
