You will need to meet the eligibility requirements to be an approved provider if you intend to operate a family day care or centre based service for children under school age. Further, you will be required to apply separately for each service where there are multiple child care centres.  If your childcare centre is in breach and/or has not complied with legislative requirements your licence to operate may be suspended or cancelled. You could be involved in civil claims, regulatory prosecutions, and/or disciplinary complaints.

The Department of Education and Training conducts thorough investigations of complaints made against child care centres and you may be required to respond to a complaint and/or investigation should they consider it appropriate for further enquiries to be undertaken. The outcome of any complaint and/or investigation could potentially threaten your licence to operate your child care centre and its reputation.

Navado Lawyers can assist you throughout the process if you find yourself in circumstances where issues of non-compliance have been alleged and/or a decision made adverse to your licence. We can assist you in making any submissions in response to a complaint or allegation of non-compliance and can advise you of any appeals that may be available if an adverse finding is made about your licence.
