The offence of furious driving is committed where you drive so furiously as to endanger the life or limb of any passenger (whether in your vehicle or another vehicle) who may be expected to be on the road.
The penalties for committing the offence of furious driving can be severe. The maximum penalties for a first offence of furious driving are:
- A maximum fine of $2,200,
- A minimum disqualification period of 12 months (or 3 years in the absence of a specific court order,
- An unlimited disqualification period as a maximum,
- A term of imprisonment of up to 9 months.
