Training or professional development visas provide opportunities to increase your skills in Australia. They require an approved sponsor and are generally managed under the Training visa (subclass 407) program. Under the subclass 407 visa, applicants can complete a supervised training program in Australia that is workplace‑based rather than classroom‑based. Alternatively, applicants can enhance their professional and/or managerial skills by taking part in tailored training programs designed by an Australian sponsoring organisation.

The Training visa allows you to enter Australia at any time after your visa is granted, do the program or activity specified in your visa application, travel to and from Australia as many times as you want while your visa is valid.

It is important to note the applicant is responsible for meeting these obligations, even if someone else was authorised to act on their behalf, including a migration agent. This includes a new residential address, a new passport, or a pregnancy, birth or death in their family.
