Family Sponsored Visas:

Overview FAQs Articles Locations

Our Migration dispute and litigation Lawyers are available to assist and provide quality advice on your eligibility to apply for a family sponsored visa. We do not process Visa Applications, as our focus is on complex migration dispute and litigation matters.

Types of Family Sponsored Visas

The type of visa may be different dependent on whether you are applying from within Australia or outside Australia. For instance, if you are not yet married to your fiancé and are outside of Australia, you may be eligible to apply for a prospective marriage visa. Your fiancé, however, must be an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. A prospective marriage visa allows you to enter Australia and marry your fiancé within nine (9) months.

There are also a number of family sponsored visas available for other family members. If you are eligible, you may be able to sponsor your relative outside of Australia on a Skilled Migration Visa. For this visa to be available, your relative outside of Australia must be competent in English and have other skills that will allow him or her to make a positive contribution to the Australian economy.  If your relative is not able to qualify for a Skills Migration Visa, they may be able to apply for a Skilled (Regional) Migration Visa. The main difference between the two visas is that the Skilled (Regional) Migration Visa requires the applicant, if approved, to work in a specified regional area of Australia - outside the metropolitan areas.

You may also be looking at sponsoring your parent or your child. A range of visa options are available. Our Migration Lawyers are qualified to advise disputes and litigation in relation to the various visa subclasses and can provide you with the expertise needed to ensure a timely outcome.

Requirements of Family Sponsored Visas

The requirements for family sponsored visas vary depending on the visa that is being applied for. Generally, if you are married or in a de facto relationship, including a same sex relationship, you may be able to apply for a partner visa. If you are in a de facto relationship, you must have been in the relationship for at least twelve (12) months. Regardless of whether you are married or in a de facto relationship, you will need to show that you have a genuine and continuing relationship to qualify for a family sponsored visa.

Similarly, for other family sponsored visas, you will need to produce certain documents to demonstrate your eligibility. For example, to apply for a Skilled Migration Visa, you must be under the age of fifty (50) and must be competent in English. If you require assistance with a Migration dispute or litigation matter, our Migration Solicitors can look at your matter and assess your case individually.

The above only represents some of the available visas. We invite you to come in and speak to one of our qualified Migration Lawyers. You can contact us by telephone on (02) 9233 4048 or send an email to info@navado.com.
