Child Visa and Dependent Child Visas:

To apply for a child visa, the child must be the child or step-child of the applicant. An individual under the age of 18 will be considered a child and be eligible for the visa. If you have a Visa dispute or litigation matter, our Migration Lawyers are familiar with the requirements of a child visa or dependent child visa and will provide you with the appropriate legal advice that you require. There are also a range of health requirements the child will need to meet. The Migration Solicitors at Navado Lawyers & Solicitors can assist you with any dispute before the Courts or Tribunals, but we do not assist with Visa Applications.

To be eligible to sponsor a child visa or a dependent child visa, the sponsor must be at least eighteen (18) years old and one of the following:

• An Australia citizen; or
• A permanent resident in Australia; or
• An eligible New Zealand citizen.

You may also need to submit an Australian Federal Police (AFP) National Police Check and/or foreign police certificate with your application. You should not take any steps without migration legal advice.

An application for a child visa or dependent child visa should be lodged with the Child and Other Family Processing Centre. There are certain fees that will apply for an application for a child visa. Our Migration Lawyers can go through the relevant fees and lodgment process with you, to determine whether or not the correct process was followed, when considering a dispute or litigation matter.
