Professional Standards:

Overview FAQs Articles Locations

Professional bodies often enforce codes which prescribe standards expected of their Professional members relating to:

  • Compliance with, and knowledge of the relevant laws;
  • That you act honestly in your dealings with others;
  • To act ethically at all times;
  • To act in the best interests of the person to whom a duty of care is owed (eg a patient);
  • To avoid conflicts of interest;
  • To maintain confidentiality.

The nature of these standards varies between professional industries, and it may be the case that certain professionals owe a greater duty than others.

If you are a Professional and are seeking advice in relation to compliance obligations, or have been accused of failing to comply with the applicable standards, then we may be able to assist.

If you are of the view that you have been mistreated by your Professional, and believe they may not have complied with the Professional standards or if you suspect they have failed to meet the duty of care owed to you as a client/ patient, then we may be able to assist.
