NCAT Occupational Division:

The Occupational Division of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (“NCAT”) manages cases involving:

• Occupational Regulation- Decisions concerning licences for various professions including professional drivers, real estate agents, motor dealers and repairers, travel agents, security guards and builders; and
• Professional Discipline- Discipline to be imposed following a complaint about the conduct of a professional, including doctor, veterinarian, architect, builder etc.

NCAT operates similarly to a Court in that it hears evidence about the complaint and makes a decision about the licence held by the professional and/or the disciplinary action to be taken against the professional.  Such decisions are capable of legal enforcement.
