The New South Wales Department of Education and Training regulates child care centres within NSW. The Department has produced the Child Care and Early Learning Compliance Framework. The key principles of the framework include:

  • Encouraging, enforcing and strengthening compliance in the child care and early learning sector to ensure public funds are spent properly and have been appropriately accounted for;
  • Protecting the integrity and reputation of the Government, the department and the sector
  • Providing assurance and confidence to the Government, child care and early learning child care providers, families and the community that the Government’s investment in quality child care and early learning is being spent fairly, equitably and for its intended purpose.

At Navado we may be able to assist you in application for any classifications or licenses which you may require for the operation of your child care centre. We can assist in preparing your business documents and procedures to ensure compliance with your statutory obligations and best practice within the child care centre.

Additionally, Navado can assist where there is a complaint between a child care centre and a parent as to compliance issues including disputes pertaining to the reporting of accidents, hygiene and child safety. We also have experience in acting in matters where personal injury has resulted from breaches of a duty of care and a breach of legal requirements.

If you are a child care centre seeking assisting with a compliance matter or allegations of non-compliance, or if you are a parent concerned about the conduct and operation of a child care centre, we recommend that you contact our firm on (02) 9233 4048 or send an email to info@navado.com.au and arrange an appointment to see one of our Compliance & Regulatory Law Solicitors.
