Beauty Treatments:

Overview FAQs Articles Locations

Generally, where a beauty treatment service is offered, it may be the case that the provider will be regulated by the Public Health Act 2010 and Public Health Regulation 2012. The provisions of the Regulation generally relate to a beauty treatment or other procedure involving skin penetration, which may include waxing.

The provisions of the Regulation generally control:

  • Premises - registration, construction and materials;
  • Equipment;
  • Hygiene procedure and protocol; and
  • Personal hygiene for beauticians.

At Navado we may be able to assist you in applying for any licenses required for the operation of your beauty business, and with drafting business documents compliant with the relevant legislative requirements. Our team at Navado can also assist should a dispute arise as to alleged contraventions of your statutory requirements, and especially in instances where noncompliance has resulted in harm or injury to a customer.

If you are unsure of your obligations or rights in relation to beauty treatments, or if you have received notification of an alleged breach, we recommend that you contact our firm on (02) 9233 4048 or send an email to info@navado.com.au and arrange an appointment to see one of our Compliance & Regulatory Law Solicitors.
