Our lives are constantly changing and so must your will. If you have been proactive and have already approached an Estate Lawyer and had a will prepared, you should consider how accurate the will is comparable to your current circumstances. Did you purchase any property since the will was drafted? Are you now married or divorced? Have you had children? An Estate Lawyer can help you determine whether any changes in your life will affect your will.
It is very important to keep your will current. You may want to consider approaching our firm to assist us to advise you whether it is appropriate that you amend your will or prepare a new will (whilst revoking the former) in circumstances where:-
- You get married
- You get divorced
- You have children
- A beneficiary or executor becomes deceased
- There is a change in your business or financial affairs (such as the purchase of a new property)
It is important that you reconsider your Will at least once a year. You should make it an annual event that coincides with completing your tax return. Contact our office for more information on (02) 9233 4048.
